07.08.12 :: a + k wedding (san diego)

In celebration of their one year anniversary, we are happy to share some darling photos of Kristine and Alfredo's San Diego wedding.

When you come from a ridiculously talented family where art and creativity are of second nature, the term DIY just would not apply. Every detail was professionally executed that future brides and grooms can't help but be slightly jealous. A custom illustration for guests to thumbprint by older brother, a money box constructed by little brother, boutonnières and bouquets by a best friend, invitations, programs, favors, and centerpieces by the bride herself–all a proclamation of the labors of love for Kristine and Alfredo on their special day.

It was beyond an honor to be one of the bridesmaids. I made it a personal goal to relinquish the stress from my dear friends so offered to be their coordinator as my gift. Fortunately, with the assistance from my amazing Bellz & Whistlez team, I was allowed to enjoy the day as a guest. Jenevive and Katrina executed the timeline flawlessly from the heartfelt ceremony to the entertaining reception. Guests were welcomed with a humorous speech by the father of the bride, were serenaded by Audra Simmons' sultry voice during the first dance and were even a part of the coolest wedding music video. Prepare yourself for this production by Arnold Alina Productions. Kristine looked absolutely breathtaking next to her handsome Alfredo!

To witness their love from the inception, throughout the years, and during the wedding process only makes things more exciting for what is to come. As we approach July 8th, not only will we be celebrating their one year anniversary but will be preparing for the arrival of their baby girl...Alexia Noelle Reyes! . . .(click for full post)

baby shower invitations :: yarn and dots

Just sharing a cute, simple baby shower invitation we designed! We kept the theme simple: yarn and dots and also incorporated a color palette of fuchsia, green and mustard gold. Will post pics from the baby shower we helped plan and design!

barbados bliss :: sneaky peeky

Here are some images taken on my iphone from our trip to Barbados (with the exception of the cake photo). I'm not going to lie, working in paradise is amazing! Cyril knocked out a few days worth of itineraries to make sure A+C's mini-vaca ran smoothly. It wasn't a walk in the park, but luckily, we were able to relax and enjoy the scenery after the big day.

barbados bliss :: wedding invitations

Last December, the Bellz & Whistlez team had the great opportunity to travel all the way to Barbados, where we helped a beautiful couple, Anthony and Christina, design and plan their dream wedding. It was a luxurious affair, yet a fun-filled extravaganza for the couple and their 60 guests. A+C selected Sandy Lane Resorts, the only 5-diamond resort on the island. The prized golf course and resort which stretches miles along the west side of the island, was the perfect backdrop.We will definitely share photos from our last wedding of 2012 -- it was such a fun event to have been a part of, and we are truly honored to have been a part of an all-star vendor team.

We designed a modern wedding invitation using bright corals, mints, aquas and silvers. Just take a peek! :)

janissa + sherwin :: engaged!

It's our first post, 28 days late. On a good note, we're heavily active on Instagram (@bellzandwhistlez) and have uploaded a few more weddings on our Facebook! Peep our IG feed on @5thVillage here.

It's only fitting our first post is about our very own sweet Janissa, who was recently asked the question of the year. Yes, she is getting hitched and we are extremely excited! We've all been waiting for Mr. Sherwin to pop the question and he executed the proposal perfectly. Last December, J+S traveled to a wintery New York to attend a friend's wedding. It was unknown to Janissa that Sherwin would book their accommodations at the Andaz New York, a boutique and posh hotel that quickly fills its suites. Thinking that he had surprised her with such a feat, Janissa was unaware that the real surprise was in his pocket. After tears of joy in a private exchange of words (and a sweaty and nervous Sherwin), and sharing the news with their accompanying friends, J+S made their way back home to San Diego after the sweet wedding to enjoy more congratulatory hugs. Soon after, J+S came up with a brilliant idea for their engagement photos -- reenact the proposal at a place they hold close to their heart -- Andaz San Diego. That's literally an engagement photography session!

It was such a brilliant idea. Janissa and Sherwin contacted the talented Gervin Reyes of LGK Photography to capture a snippet of the engagement at the Andaz New York. They both look so cozy, comfortable, private, and in LOVE. Cheesy albeit, but so true! Love it.

holiday season is here!

Time surely does fly. It seems like just yesterday, we were planning Eileen and Ryan's beautiful white wedding at the Hyatt. Now, they have a little boy, Ethan, who is growing before our eyes! After numerous weddings, events, and invitation projects, we're so honored to say this was our busiest year since 2006. We added new coordinators to the team, designed and planned our first Indian wedding of 400 guests in just two months, and closed out the year with our last wedding in the beautiful island of Barbados. Christmas was just a few days ago, and it's crazy that we're getting ready to ring in the new year. That means more proposals, more weddings, and more babies! We are on the roll with the plans for our 2013 D+I+C weddings, but we are excited to share that our first event is just around the corner -- January 31st. Be sure to stay posted. We are hoping to finally get tons of photos up from this year's weddings. Thank you so much to the team, the clients and fans, for motivating B&W.

L+E's romantic wedding invitations :: midnight blue, periwinkle and silver

Hi! It's been a while. We are getting ready for back-to-back weddings this weekend. On Friday, we have a wedding in Hollywood, then Saturday, we're making our way to San Diego for another grand event. Can't wait for these two couples to finally join the club!

In the meantime, I want to showcase Lakana and Eli's beautiful wedding invitation ensemble. The couple chose to go with a romantic, modern style, incorporating shades of silvers, blues and periwinkles. I will have to snag some photos of their wedding 'cause it was drop dead gorgeous!!! Enjoy!

save-the-dates :: barbados wedding

It's so sad to say goodbye to summer, but I'm in no rush to say farewell to the hot sun. I LOVE summer time! We've had back to back weddings, traveling to San Francisco, Orange County, and San Diego, and in December, we'll be making our way to Barbados for a special wedding. It's super exciting because I get to travel with my BFF and partner coordinator, Cyril. The planning is in full swing!

Here are Anthony and Tina's save-the-date magnets. Their color palette is a mix of lush corals, vibrant periwinkles, slate, and a gorgeous raspberry. Though simple in concept, the design is modern and fun! I love that the photo is cropped. BTW, this was taken by the talented Ja Tecson, who will be traveling with us as well. . . .(click for full post)

rachel and derrick :: andaz san diego

I'm proud of my city -- San Diego. And when I meet couples who are not locals and plan to wed in my hometown, there's an excitement that overcomes me. Rachel and Derrick, who were married earlier this April at the Andaz San Diego, wanted to share with their family and friends what SD has to offer -- beautiful skylines, mid-70s weather, countless beaches, and relaxed locals. We were hired to help with month-of coordination and invitations/paper details. Together, R+D worked on designing their special event. They chose the perfect wedding venue to highlight the city's downtown, with a rooftop that gives a glimpse into a busy, vibrant, and social nightlife. With 75 of their dearest family and friends, R+D not only had one memorably sweet ceremony, but an awesome kick-your-heels-off kind of wedding reception! Here are some beautiful photos from their big day at the Andaz last April. These were captured by Joshua Killeen, who happened to be one of the easiest fellas to work with! Thanks to the Andaz staff, Ever After Weddings, Adorations, Joshua Killeen, B'Entertained, Playtime Attractions, Sweet Cheeks Bakery, and Platinum Party Rentals for helping make this day possible!
