fresh boutonnières by the knot

If you haven't stopped by The Knot.com, you're missing out one of the most extensive wedding resources for any and everything "wedding." Create an account and you'll get to see much more. I was on a mission to find some boutonnière inspiration and immediately thought of The Knot's galleries. I've picked quite a few of my favorite boutonnières which were initially chosen to be showcased online by the talented folks at The Knot. Yes, we're far from the traditional rose + baby breath lapel décor -- try dendrobium orchids, millets, spray roses, dahlias, leucadendrons, mums, hypericum berries, freesia, or chocolate cosmos!

Show samples to your florist and let them know your style and vision...and ask for advice! Florists are creative people who aren't only knowledgeable with flowers and foliage, but extremely meticulous with their designs, even with something as small as the boutonnière. Color, proportion, and choice of flower are only several of the things they take into consideration. I've made boutonnières for a wedding before, so I'm familiar with how much time these miniature arrangements take to put together.
