M+J's wedding photos by Chaz Cruz :: hotel maya

2012 wedding projects are underway, but before I blog about upcoming projects, I want to share May+John's wedding photos captured by Chaz Cruz Photography. The Hotel Maya is one little gorgeous gem in Long Beach. The backdrop, which is the bay, along with the Latin flavored decor that fills the space, created the perfect atmosphere for stunning, fun, and intimate photos.

May and John asked us to help coordinate their wedding almost a year ago. It was such a pleasure working with these two -- they're such a great team, quickly tackling every task and being so proactive in the process. They even worked up the design on their own. The wedding turned out to be one super successful event -- we were about 20 min. ahead of schedule, which allowed the bride and groom plenty of time to chat with their guests. This intimate wedding, which consisted of 120 really close family and friends, goes down as one of the most love-filled events of 2011--my heart warms every time I think about M+J's wedding day. Everyone's eyes were on the happy couple, with smiles and laughs filling the air. It felt as though everyone in the room knew each other, and as a result, it was bittersweet to see the night end. Thank you to a great vendor team!

filipino banderitas

B&W helped come up with the reception design for a 10-yr wedding renewal in the Philippines, which is taking place next week, and I wanted to share a teaser shot of the Filipino banderitas I made. I used real lace and created a template in order to trim them accordingly. Banners or flags are easy DIY projects that make a visual impact. These 40+ ft banderitas will be hung at the reception. Can't wait to see!
