holiday season is here!

Time surely does fly. It seems like just yesterday, we were planning Eileen and Ryan's beautiful white wedding at the Hyatt. Now, they have a little boy, Ethan, who is growing before our eyes! After numerous weddings, events, and invitation projects, we're so honored to say this was our busiest year since 2006. We added new coordinators to the team, designed and planned our first Indian wedding of 400 guests in just two months, and closed out the year with our last wedding in the beautiful island of Barbados. Christmas was just a few days ago, and it's crazy that we're getting ready to ring in the new year. That means more proposals, more weddings, and more babies! We are on the roll with the plans for our 2013 D+I+C weddings, but we are excited to share that our first event is just around the corner -- January 31st. Be sure to stay posted. We are hoping to finally get tons of photos up from this year's weddings. Thank you so much to the team, the clients and fans, for motivating B&W.

L+E's romantic wedding invitations :: midnight blue, periwinkle and silver

Hi! It's been a while. We are getting ready for back-to-back weddings this weekend. On Friday, we have a wedding in Hollywood, then Saturday, we're making our way to San Diego for another grand event. Can't wait for these two couples to finally join the club!

In the meantime, I want to showcase Lakana and Eli's beautiful wedding invitation ensemble. The couple chose to go with a romantic, modern style, incorporating shades of silvers, blues and periwinkles. I will have to snag some photos of their wedding 'cause it was drop dead gorgeous!!! Enjoy!

save-the-dates :: barbados wedding

It's so sad to say goodbye to summer, but I'm in no rush to say farewell to the hot sun. I LOVE summer time! We've had back to back weddings, traveling to San Francisco, Orange County, and San Diego, and in December, we'll be making our way to Barbados for a special wedding. It's super exciting because I get to travel with my BFF and partner coordinator, Cyril. The planning is in full swing!

Here are Anthony and Tina's save-the-date magnets. Their color palette is a mix of lush corals, vibrant periwinkles, slate, and a gorgeous raspberry. Though simple in concept, the design is modern and fun! I love that the photo is cropped. BTW, this was taken by the talented Ja Tecson, who will be traveling with us as well. . . .(click for full post)

rachel and derrick :: andaz san diego

I'm proud of my city -- San Diego. And when I meet couples who are not locals and plan to wed in my hometown, there's an excitement that overcomes me. Rachel and Derrick, who were married earlier this April at the Andaz San Diego, wanted to share with their family and friends what SD has to offer -- beautiful skylines, mid-70s weather, countless beaches, and relaxed locals. We were hired to help with month-of coordination and invitations/paper details. Together, R+D worked on designing their special event. They chose the perfect wedding venue to highlight the city's downtown, with a rooftop that gives a glimpse into a busy, vibrant, and social nightlife. With 75 of their dearest family and friends, R+D not only had one memorably sweet ceremony, but an awesome kick-your-heels-off kind of wedding reception! Here are some beautiful photos from their big day at the Andaz last April. These were captured by Joshua Killeen, who happened to be one of the easiest fellas to work with! Thanks to the Andaz staff, Ever After Weddings, Adorations, Joshua Killeen, B'Entertained, Playtime Attractions, Sweet Cheeks Bakery, and Platinum Party Rentals for helping make this day possible!

xylowedding :: wood veneer invitations

Just wanted to show off these rad wedding invitations we designed for Aj and Anna Calomay. We had the pleasure of helping with design+invitations+coordination for their xylo wedding last weekend at St Joan of Arc Church and the SmogShoppe. We have lots to show you, but peep these.. these were printed on cotton rag and then mounted on wood veneer, and then triple knotted with mini rope. I love how the lined envelopes turned out!

Special thanks to one of our favorite and super talented cinematographers, Loyd Calomay, for referring us to his cousin, Aj--we are blessed to have been a part of the all-star team of vendors!

save-the-dates :: ode to hollywood

Hope you're having a great week! We're busy working up details, linen and paper goods for our upcoming weddings, but wanted to show one of the save-the-dates we did a few months ago. Jon and Carla are getting married at the impressive Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles.

J+C are actually good friends of my husband and mine. They are a youthful, fun, and sexy couple who met in Hollywood, hence the infamous sign in back drop. The image pays homage to Hollywood, a special place where, until today, they continue to hang out. Atrero Photography took so many great photos, and it was tough to decide on the winning shot. I have so many favorites from their album. This classic, black and white save-the-date magnet was tucked into a dark blue metallic envelope and embellished with a custom designed wrap around address label. We're also in the process of designing their custom invitations, and they will be posted in the near future. We are excited to be assisting them with their wedding plans!

it's a xylo thing :: save the dates

Bellz & Whistlez is on a roll. We have lots of things to post -- but with the busy wedding season, we are a little backed up with posts. Please bare with us or check us out on Facebook to see regular posts.

We have the privilege of helping Anna and AJ with their wedding day on August 4. They are getting married at the beautiful St. Joan of Arc Church in Los Angeles and are celebrating with 250+ guests at the smog-shop-turned-reception-venue SmogShoppe in LA. If you haven't heard of the eco-friendly venue, SmogShoppe, be sure to check it out! It's definitely one of my favorite out-of-the-box venues.

These save-the-date magnets were custom designed for the couple, paying homage to AJ's father, as seen in the xylophone logo. We will post their wood veneer invitations soon -- those turned out pretty rad, too! . . .(click for full post)

E+M's classy wedding invitations :: black, white, gold and blush

Here are some photos of Eunicar and Mike's classy wedding invitations. Euni wanted something simple, yet stylish and modern. It was also important for the design to carry a masculine feel since she wanted it to reflect her groom's style, so we used a sexy metallic onyx black jacket, a clean monogram design, and heavy serif fonts. The "T" monogram was also turned into a gobo design, later projected on the dance floor. This wedding invitation ensemble ran offset on cotton rag paper. I added gold satin corners to embellish the main invitation card and designed the layout with hints of blush.
Here is a photo of the matching table number, menu card and place cards.

teasers: E+Ms exquisite wedding in solana beach

It's been a while; we are still turning our wheels! Since the start of this blog, our project list has multiplied, and with each wedding, we've been able to step it up a notch or at least continue to modernize the idea of a traditional wedding. Here are some teasers from a wedding we designed, coordinated and produced paper goods for in Solana Beach. It was such a beautiful, luxurious, yet intimate event, and it was such an honor celebrating with the bride and groom, Euni and Mike. Check out the gorgeous centerpieces atop crystal candelabras and décor provided by Ana from Floral Works and Raphael's Party Rentals.

I've seen post-wedding photos, like trash the dress sessions, but I haven't seen anything so sexy, daring, and surreal like Trailbrook Photography's session of Eileen and Ryan, who recently wed early this year. Here are some teasers to show that great photographers have crazy, cool ideas up their sleeves. Stan and Jeannette totally set the bar with this one!
