save-the-dates :: ode to hollywood

Hope you're having a great week! We're busy working up details, linen and paper goods for our upcoming weddings, but wanted to show one of the save-the-dates we did a few months ago. Jon and Carla are getting married at the impressive Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles.

J+C are actually good friends of my husband and mine. They are a youthful, fun, and sexy couple who met in Hollywood, hence the infamous sign in back drop. The image pays homage to Hollywood, a special place where, until today, they continue to hang out. Atrero Photography took so many great photos, and it was tough to decide on the winning shot. I have so many favorites from their album. This classic, black and white save-the-date magnet was tucked into a dark blue metallic envelope and embellished with a custom designed wrap around address label. We're also in the process of designing their custom invitations, and they will be posted in the near future. We are excited to be assisting them with their wedding plans!

it's a xylo thing :: save the dates

Bellz & Whistlez is on a roll. We have lots of things to post -- but with the busy wedding season, we are a little backed up with posts. Please bare with us or check us out on Facebook to see regular posts.

We have the privilege of helping Anna and AJ with their wedding day on August 4. They are getting married at the beautiful St. Joan of Arc Church in Los Angeles and are celebrating with 250+ guests at the smog-shop-turned-reception-venue SmogShoppe in LA. If you haven't heard of the eco-friendly venue, SmogShoppe, be sure to check it out! It's definitely one of my favorite out-of-the-box venues.

These save-the-date magnets were custom designed for the couple, paying homage to AJ's father, as seen in the xylophone logo. We will post their wood veneer invitations soon -- those turned out pretty rad, too! . . .(click for full post)

E+M's classy wedding invitations :: black, white, gold and blush

Here are some photos of Eunicar and Mike's classy wedding invitations. Euni wanted something simple, yet stylish and modern. It was also important for the design to carry a masculine feel since she wanted it to reflect her groom's style, so we used a sexy metallic onyx black jacket, a clean monogram design, and heavy serif fonts. The "T" monogram was also turned into a gobo design, later projected on the dance floor. This wedding invitation ensemble ran offset on cotton rag paper. I added gold satin corners to embellish the main invitation card and designed the layout with hints of blush.
Here is a photo of the matching table number, menu card and place cards.
